Details: The Project Officer will work as a part of the Environmental Sustainability team to support the development and maintenance of programs, policies and strategies to improve the environmental performance of buildings and other infrastructure at ACT public schools.
The team works flexibly from 220 London Circuit, City; the Hedley Beare Centre for Teaching and Learning, Stirling; from home and at schools according to operational requirements.
The role requires a strategic thinker with a strong foundation in the practical application of sustainability measures within a corporate government environment. The person must be self-motivated with effective communication and time management skills and collaborate effectively within a team environment.

Eligibility/Other Requirements: The following capabilities form the criteria that are required to perform the duties and responsibilities of the position:
Professional and Technical Skills, and Knowledge
* Knowledge or experience in environmental sustainability principles and design requirements for buildings particularly in relation to educational facilities.
* Knowledge and experience in the planning, development and delivery of educational programs to improve student and staff knowledge and behaviour in relation to environmental sustainability.
* Proven ability to maintain, check and analyse large data sets and generate clear and accurate reports and planning processes.
* Proven oral and written communication skills (including drafting of correspondence, project briefs, and project reports) and stakeholder management and customer service.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team on multiple projects, balance priorities, meet deadlines and achieve positive client outcomes.
* Ability to apply equity and diversity, participative management and workplace health and safety principles and practices in the workplace.
Mandatory
* A current driving licence.
* Relevant Tertiary qualification and/or experience in education, data management or environmental sustainability.
Note: This is a temporary position available immediately for a period of six months with the possibility of permanency. Please note, this position will be moving to a new workplace designed for activity-based working (ABW). Under ABW arrangements, officers will not have a designated workstation/desk. Opportunities for flexible working options could include hybrid working, being a combination of working from home, designated office based and FlexiSpace working locations across the ACT, part-time hours, job-sharing, flexible start, and finish times. A Merit Pool will be established from this selection process and will be used to fill vacancies over the next 12 months.
