Smithridge Care & Support are looking for Deputy Managers to join our growing team. Smithridge supports EBD & LD residential homes across the West Midlands, Staffordshire and Shropshire regions. Smithridge works closely with children's residential services and supports those in recruiting the right Deputy Managers for their homes and children by offering temp to perm contracts.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in residential care, including experience in therapeutic care.

Responsibilities as a Children’s Deputy Manager
* Conduct supervision
* Work closely with the Registered Manager to help manage a team of senior and support workers while ensuring the highest standards of quality and assurance are met
* Co-manage and support the service with the Registered Manager
* Update documents and complete quality assurance, reviews, and audits
* Be part of the on-call rota with the rest of the management team
* Strive to achieve registration goals with OFSTED – ensuring and working to achieve GOOD / OUTSTANDING ratings
* Lead by example
* Attend meetings focused on young people’s progress and well-being, advocating for their needs and ensuring their voices are heard in decision-making
Essential
* Minimum 2 years’ experience in either a Deputy Manager or Senior Residential Support Worker position in a children’s residential home
* Either have or be working towards the Level 5 diploma in Leadership and Management in Residential Childcare
* Strong understanding of relevant legislation, regulations, and best practices
* Hold a full UK manual driving licence
Desirable
* Experience in working within settings where skills and knowledge are transferable in the therapeutic parenting role
* Experience in working within settings where skills and knowledge are transferable in supporting those with a learning difference
