The Role: As a Managing Engineer or Lead Engineer, you'll play a crucial role in technical leadership, ensuring teams build high-performance, cloud-based applications with a full ownership model. You'll work with modern software stacks (Java, Python, NoSQL, REST), event-based processing (Kafka), and CI/CD pipelines to deliver scalable, highly available solutions. Key Responsibilities: Managing Engineer (75% Hands-On) Lead daily standups and cross-team collaboration. Provide technical input in backlog planning, working alongside Product Managers. Drive adoption of paired programming, test-driven development (TDD), and CI/CD best practices. Advocate for Shift-Left security, automation, and DevOps methodologies. Establish and optimize continuous integration, continuous delivery, and deployment pipelines. Lead Engineer (50% Hands-On) Shape architecture and technical strategy for enterprise applications. Lead product discovery and technical alignment across teams. Serve as a technical mentor, guiding teams on best practices and technology choices. Build and implement event-driven architectures (Kafka) and DevOps best practices. Promote Shift-Left methodologies, embedding security, testing, and automation at the start of development. Essential Criteria: 4 years (Managing Engineer) / 5 years (Lead Engineer) experience. Expertise in event-driven architectures (Kafka or similar). Strong experience in large-scale applications using Java, Python, NoSQL, REST. Deep understanding of CI/CD, DevOps, and automation practices.
