About The Role
We have an exciting opportunity to join our Aberlour Grounds Team as an Apprentice.
This role is ideal for someone who has completed school and is looking for a new challenge or for a candidate with previous relevant experience, who is looking at taking their first steps into a Grounds role.The position will be fixed term for the duration of the apprenticeship, up to a maximum of 2 years, with the opportunity for this to be made permanent.
You will be:
1. Grass cutting
2. Operating and using machinery, reporting any damages or faults and organising replacements when necessary
3. Carrying out landscape maintenance
4. Carrying out mixed woodland management
5. Ensuring the Company grounds are in a safe state of repair
6. Using the leaf blower to prevent build up of leaves
7. Reporting any timber and firewood requirements
8. Organising firewood for sale
9. Removing ice and snow from roads and walkways and ensuring paths are gritted in cold weather
You will be working 38 hours per week, 7.30am - 4pm Monday to Thursday and 7.30am - 2pm on Fridays.
You will:
1. Have a positive, proactive attitude
2. Have a good level of physical fitness
3. Be able to work well in a team and individually
4. Have a full driver's license
5. Have a passion for working outdoors with an interest in horticulture
