Are you a budding writer and journalist who is looking to establish a career in food, drink and travel media? Are you a strong communicator who is able to leverage networking skills to connect with top chefs, restaurateurs, bartenders and hoteliers across the world?
As the 50 Best portfolio continues to expand, we are looking to grow our in-house editorial and production team by recruiting a passionate Content Assistant who will be an integral part of the team.
Key objectives will include content management on our high-traffic websites, writing about some of the best food, drink and travel in the world, and liaison with vital 50 Best stakeholders.
Working within the editorial team, the Content Assistant role provides an ideal opportunity for a well-organised, aspiring digital journalist to work on this highly successful and influential brand in the hospitality media space.
What you’ll be doing:
* Writing articles and profiles about the world’s best restaurants, bars and hotels
* Liaising with key internal and external stakeholders and talent including chefs, bartenders, restaurateurs and hoteliers
* Sourcing digital visual assets for the websites
* Uploading content to the CMS for the 50 Best websites
* Actively participating in 50 Best global events from content ideation to assisting onsite
* Supporting the editorial team with administrative tasks
Requirements
What you’ll need:
* Qualification in journalism or degree-level education in English, communications or a relevant field (or equivalent)
* Passionate writer with a desire to learn and improve journalistic skills
* Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with a proactive approach to engaging with both internal and external stakeholders
* Highly organised with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
* Outstanding attention to detail
* An eye for captivating visuals; any experience with photo editing software is a plus
* A positive self-starter with a strong commitment to teamwork, collaboration and generating innovative ideas
* Knowledge of the hospitality industry and a love of food, drink and travel
* Knowledge and experience of CMS and digital content creation
* Willingness to travel internationally to our events
* Ability to speak additional languages, particularly Spanish or Portuguese, is a major advantage
