Are you an enthusiastic, hard-working and motivated Registered Nurse with good communication skills looking for your next opportunity? Are you passionate about delivering high standards of patient care as part of a multi-disciplinary team? If you can answer yes to these questions, then you could be the person we are looking for!
We have an opportunity to join our Oncology/Haematology West Bergholt Ward at Colchester Hospital as a Junior Sister / Junior Charge Nurse. West Bergholt has 28 beds in bays and side rooms. We care for patients with cancer who may be receiving radiotherapy/chemotherapy with either a curative or palliative intent. We strive to achieve both continuity and individualized holistic care to the highest possible standard.
Main duties of the job
In this role, you will effectively manage and develop a nursing team and provide professional and clinical leadership in the delivery of high-quality, safe, cost-effective care to patients and their families. You will be designated to take charge of the Ward regularly in the absence of the Ward Sister.
You will provide inspirational leadership to the department, be positively welcoming, effective, and act as a credible role model to the team of Registered Nurses and Healthcare Support Workers. You should be caring, compassionate, forward-thinking, well-organized, and have a positive attitude towards flexibility and change. You will have well-developed communication and change management skills and share in our vision and commitment to continuously develop and improve. If you think you have the passion to ensure the continued development of the cancer services the trust provides, we want to hear from you.
