Systemic Family Psychotherapist required for part time (30 hours per week) role.
Our unique range of services gives our colleagues the opportunity to develop skills and experience of working with a broad range of mental health conditions across four mental health service lines, across the hospital's seven wards.
We provide a diverse range of inpatient services. These include acute and psychiatric intensive care services for adults, a specialist adult Eating Disorder service, and a private addictions service. Across seven wards, our multi-disciplinary teams deliver personalised treatment programmes to our patients and have established an excellent reputation for providing the highest standards of care.
The role will involve:
1. Providing specialist systemic assessment & intervention for the patients and their families.
2. Participating in assessment, care planning and facilitating psycho-educational and parent support groups.
3. Offering advice and consultation on the psychological care of patients and their families to colleagues, working autonomously within professional guidelines and the overall framework of the team's policies and procedures.
4. Attending or contributing to ward rounds, CPAs, MDT assessments, team formulations, and care planning.
5. Offering systemic family therapy to carers and patients using a range of systemic interventions.
6. Offering systemic consultations across the MDT and contributing to thinking about patients and their families from a systemic psychotherapy perspective.
7. Running reflective groups to develop systemic thinking across staff groups.
8. Working closely with relevant other professionals as appropriate.
9. Undertaking risk assessment and risk management of patients.
10. Receiving regular clinical supervision from a senior family therapist and where appropriate, other senior professional colleagues.
11. Providing advice, consultation and training to staff working with the patients across the Eating Disorder service.
Minimum Requirements:
1. Qualified Systemic Family Psychotherapist registered with the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) via the College of Family Couple and Systemic Therapy.
2. Educated to MSc level in Family Therapies.
3. Previous experience within Eating Disorders would be desirable.
