Work
As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.
What you’ll do at work
We are looking for someone new to join our small team, someone who is eager to learn and enjoy the dynamic world of childcare. This apprenticeship offers you the chance to gain valuable skills and complete a Level 3 Early Years Apprenticeship.
As a Level 3 Childcare Apprentice, you will learn to plan and deliver engaging activities that provide a challenging and rewarding experience for the children, ensuring a safe and stimulating environment. This position requires a patient and dynamic individual to fulfil the role. If you feel you possess these qualities, we look forward to hearing from you.
Key Responsibilities:
* Look after and care for young children between the ages of 1-4 years
* Assist in planning and delivering engaging activities to help children develop
* Provide a safe, secure, and stimulating environment for all children
* Perform daily tasks within the nursery routine, including general cleaning
* Assist with nappy changing and help with toileting
* Learn and participate in the day-to-day running of the setting
* Ensure the safety and happiness of all children in your care

* Recognise when a child or a colleague is in danger or at risk of abuse and act to protect them in line with safeguarding policy and procedure.
* Apply legislation, policy and procedure to protect the health, safety and wellbeing of children in the setting (for example, food safety, diets, starting solid food, allergies, COSHH, and accidents, injuries, and emergencies).
* Apply the principles of risk assessment and risk management within documentation and practice.
* Teach children to develop skills to manage risk and maintain their own and others safety.
* Use a range of communication methods, including technology, with other professionals to meet the individual needs of the child.
* Develop and maintain effective professional, collaborative relationships with others involved in the education and care of the child.
