Your Role in Building Brighter Futures
As an SEND Administrator at Sir Bernard Lovell Academy you will play a key role in contributing to the delivery of Futura’s mission statement of “Building the brightest future for all, enabling every individual to flourish”. We are looking for an individual who is passionate about living our values and making a positive impact on all the young people in our Trust.
SBL Academy is a thriving and oversubscribed 11-18 co-educational comprehensive school serving the communities between Bristol and Bath. Our students benefit from high-quality classroom experiences and a broad and varied enrichment programme. Exceptional pastoral and student support is essential to our provision and our SEND Team sits centrally within our approach to student support.
The SEND Team is led by an experienced SENDCO and Deputy SENDCO and consists of two HLTA’s and 12 Teaching Assistants. We are a growing team, designed to support a level of need which is reflective of the local and national SEND picture. This post of SEND Administrator is pivotal to the work of the SEND Team and an exciting opportunity to have a direct and substantial impact on the lives of young people with SEND.
As SEND Administrator you will be responsible for:
• Maintaining a well-organised and efficient SEND office
• Managing communications about students’ additional needs with key stakeholders
• Coordinating the process of EHCP Annual Reviews to support the SENDCO in paperwork completion
• Arranging appointments and meetings, and coordinating agendas for visiting professionals
What You’ll Bring to Futura
We are looking for an energetic, innovative administrator with a passion for developing systems and processes that maximise efficiency. Your eye for detail will ensure the team remain compliant with statutory guidelines. As a SEND Administrator you will possess the following:
• Qualifications: 5 GCSE passes including English & mathematics Grade C/4.
• Experience: A knowledge of SEND provision in schools would be an advantage but is not essential. Full training will be given.
• Skills: Excellent communication, the ability to work under own initiative and excellent IT skills in particular use of Microsoft Outlook and Excel.
• You will also demonstrate a passion for creating a supportive and inclusive environment for all members of our school community; and.
• Align with our trust-wide values by bringing a positive, collaborative approach to their work and a willingness to continuously develop professionally.
