As BIW Layout Engineer you will be joining a growing division of Segula. This offers a large potential for personal growth within a consultancy who works with multiple customers and sectors. You will be responsible for the introduction of new facilities, materials product lines, and new/current vehicle freshening programs.
Job Description
Assessing feasibility of new BIW facilities and processes, development and management of projects for cost, quality and timing.
1. Supporting the area by providing the required capability and capacity at the facilities and supporting equipment, aligned to the programme milestones, launch plans and production requirements.
2. Developing engineering solutions that are suited to the capabilities of appropriate facility and its associated process characteristics as directed.
3. Developing robust/lean layout solutions to support facility project delivery or process/operational efficiency improvements.
4. Co-ordinating the support and input of all relevant stakeholders to achieve acceptance, buy-off and successful handover of new or modified facilities.
5. Working closely with Manufacturing and other Engineering disciplines across the company to deliver programs & facility projects to cost targets and timing.
6. Management of facility documentation on the projects they work on in line with Manufacturing Engineering procedures, supporting internal and external audits.
7. Leading & partaking in multifunctional New Equipment Procurement Teams through all project phases ensuring company procurement procedures are met & adhered to.
8. Tracking project based KPI's & making ready for report out to departmental manager on a weekly basis.
Minimum Requirements
1. 2D Layout design experience
2. AutoCAD or similar experience
3. Sound engineering and automotive background with previous experience in BIW Layout.
4. Experience of reliability and maintainability principles and an understanding of the environmental impacts of engineering solutions.
5. Ability to control & manage suppliers (both Material & Equipment).
6. Have a working knowledge of the application of lean manufacturing tools and techniques.
7. Previous experience of Supplier selection and tender management.
8. Working knowledge of electrical control systems employed with automated equipment & conveyor equipment.
