Deputy Headteacher - SEMH School
Location: Newbury, Berkshire
Salary: Up to £60,000 per annum
An exciting and rewarding opportunity has arisen for an experienced Deputy Headteacher to join a specialist school catering for children and young people with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
We are seeking a passionate and skilled leader with a strong background in SEND/SEMH education, who can work closely with the Headteacher to provide strategic leadership, improve educational outcomes, and create a nurturing and inclusive learning environment. The ideal candidate will be committed to supporting students with additional needs and have the ability to inspire and motivate both staff and students.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Assist the Headteacher in providing strategic leadership and direction for the school.
2. Contribute to driving high standards of education and pastoral care.
3. Lead on key areas such as curriculum development, behaviour management, and safeguarding.
4. Support and develop staff, fostering a culture of continuous professional development.
5. Ensure the school remains a supportive, inclusive, and engaging environment for all students.
6. Work collaboratively with external partners and stakeholders to enhance the school's overall impact.
The Ideal Candidate:
1. Proven experience as a senior leader or Deputy Headteacher in a SEND/SEMH setting.
2. Strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills.
3. A deep passion for improving the lives of young people with additional needs.
4. Able to engage and collaborate effectively with staff, students, and external partners.
5. Committed to creating an environment where every student can thrive and succeed.
