* Role title: Data and Monitoring Platforms Enterprise Architect

* Reports to: Head of Architecture
* Location: Newbury, UK HYBRID -(Eight days in month compulsory)
Role Purpose:
* Lead the definition and drive the execution of the technology strategy and roadmap for the IoT Reporting & Analytics and Monitoring domains
* Deliver innovative and pragmatic Enterprise and Capability Architectures in line with business needs.
* Provide technical expert contribution to the technology selection process where new architecture building blocks are required
* Define architecture patterns and principles relevant to the reporting & analytics and monitoring domains, to enable auto approval of designs following pre-approved approaches
* Participate in the design and execution of Architectural Governance across the relevant stakeholders.
* Support the early life definition and impact assessment of Programmes and Projects including shaping and scope definition.
What you'll do:
* Capability architecture definition for the reporting & analytics and monitoring domains
* Technology selection for the reporting & analytics and monitoring components
* Design approvals for designs impacting reporting, analytics, and monitoring
* Maintaining architecture repository with relevant application portfolio information
* Patterns and principles relating to the domains
Who you are:
* Experience in designing complex, distributed, secure and scalable architecture solutions within complex organisations, preferably in the B2B market
* Strong knowledge of architecture best practices and design patterns, including:
* 10 years + experience architecting big data, reporting and analytics systems and/or OSS and monitoring platforms (including log capture and analysis, infrastructure and cloud monitoring, application monitoring and business service/transaction monitoring)
* Defining cloud-based architectures (AWS experience preferred)
* Experience with monitoring technologies (preferably with Loki, Grafana, Open Telemetry, AppDynamics, but equivalent industry tools will suffice)
* Managing massive data sets and environments requiring a high degree of elasticity
* Working within a large multi-national organisation, preferably in the B2B market
* Working in complex architecture environments involving 50+ applications
* Production of blueprints, roadmaps and other Enterprise Architecture documentation
* Working with operational and engineering teams to define supportable solutions and run POCs/POVs
* Proven experience of conducting technical workshops, presenting technical solutions, preparing architecture guidelines and technical strategy documents.
* Familiar with Enterprise Architecture frameworks (TOGAF, TM Forum, etc) and capable of suggesting new tools/process.
* Excellent communication (both written and verbal) and presentation skills.
Must have technical / professional qualifications:
* Relevant university degree (M.Sc., B.Sc. etc)
* AWS Certified Solution Architect (Associate or Professional) (desirable)
* SAFE Agile certified or extensive experience working in a scaled Scrum or Kanban environment (desirable)
* IoT or telecoms knowledge is desirable
