Our IT team is looking for an IT Asset Manager. The main focus of the role will be to ensure that the client's software and hardware asset management and licensing processes are meticulously established and followed. This is a great opportunity to lead a new IT Asset function by introducing new ITIL / ITSM processes, transforming it from a reactive to a proactive function. The ideal candidate will have a can-do attitude, the ability to 'get stuck in', and have a real desire to improve auditing processes related to the college's hardware and software assets. Strong organisational skills and the ability to work effectively to deadlines are essential. An in-depth knowledge of the client's systems isn't required, as long as the candidate has the skills and ability to motivate and support IT colleagues in enhancing IT auditing services. MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB As the IT Asset Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the entire life cycle of the organisation's IT assets and licenses. This role involves ensuring compliance with licensing agreements, optimising asset usage, managing inventory, and implementing strategies for cost-effective procurement and deployment of IT resources. To be accountable for the management, development, direction and delivery of IT asset services covering software and hardware whilst meeting customer satisfaction and continuous service delivery demands. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Ensure the provision and delivery of high quality and cost-effective services aligned to teaching and learning objectives. Promote and support innovative ways of achieving our client's service aims and objectives through the development, delivery and review of IT and business plans and strategies. Provide guidance and professional advice to college management, directors and colleagues, ensuring clear communication. Undertake continued professional development and ensure understanding and communication of best working practices. Work with Head of Service Delivery to manage IT OpEx and CapEx budgets to ensure IT costs are controlled effectively to deliver best value to WHC Group and capital requests are planned. Challenge the accepted way of working with our client and encourage colleagues to think differently and innovatively. Create a plan to manage software and hardware assets to ensure best value to our client. Oversee technology procurement, ensuring compliance with our client's procurement policy. Provide out of hours support and leadership as required (Time off in Lieu applies). Contribute to the IT Service Delivery and DevOps daily comms cells and monthly team meetings.
