We are looking for a Senior Project Manager to join our UK North Infrastructure team to work on a variety of interesting and challenging projects, both nationally and locally. You will be joining a developing team of like-minded people that have a passion for innovation and delivering cutting edge solutions.
Here's what you'll do
As a Senior Project Manager, you will be expected to work with an Associate or Director to successfully manage, coordinate and deliver projects and / or to work independently leading a team to successfully manage and deliver capital investment projects. This role involves providing client-side project management support during all stages of the project delivery lifecycle from initial inception, through the design and procurement process and onto the site delivery and commissioning phase, and AECOM led commissions.
* Lead Project Management commissions, taking responsibility for their successful delivery.
* Provide effective support and mentoring to Project Managers, Graduates and Apprentices.
* Ensure commissions are managed and completed efficiently, on time and to the client's satisfaction.
* Support and manage the project team ensuring appropriate resources are provided on projects, meeting the client and business requirements.
* Develop strong relationships with clients and members of the cross-functional team.
* Support business development opportunities with existing and new clients. Be the primary interface with AECOM clients (new and existing).
* Ensure all team members reporting to you have current and relevant training.
* Manage the delivery of project management team outputs, in accordance with agreed timescales and quality standards.
* Provide full Project Management duties to AECOM clients.
Note that some of the commissions that we undertake may require full-time secondment into a client organisation.

Here's what we're looking for
* Experience of working within a client organisation, either directly or through a co-location / secondment arrangement.
* Practicioner of NEC suite of contracts, particularly the Professional Services Contract (PSC) and Engineering and Construction Contract (ECC).
* Experience of leading integrated, multi-organisation, collaborative teams.
* Proven ability to advise clients and design teams on value, risks and programme.
* Infrastructure and project management experience.
* Excellent communication and organisational skills.
* Highly motivated with a growing industry network.
* Relationship building skills - ability to build strong relationships with clients, teams, and stakeholders as well as an ability to build and maintain networks of business contacts.
* Able to work under own initiative where appropriate working closely with the Project Managers and Associates in the delivery of some of our projects.
* A team player with a 'can-do' attitude, outgoing, polite, patient, diplomatic, personable, respectful, and flexible.
* Excellent IT Skills and the ability to utilise current digital tools.
* Excellent numeracy, verbal and written communication skills.
* Willing to challenge in a positive and engaging manner.
* Understanding of a variety of project types / sizes / sectors. Water sector experience would be advantageous.
Education, Professional Qualifications Requirements
The individuals proposed for the role of a Senior Project Manager will ideally demonstrate the following:
* A minimum 7 years of proven experience in a consulting environment providing a full spectrum of PM services including chairing meetings, minuting or proactively engaging in discussions, developing the PEP, progress reports, and tender documentation. General post contract management and administration, proactively engaging with relevant stakeholders, being aware of the scope of service, ensuring delivery within the agreed parameters, and helping to resolve disputes whenever possible.
* Demonstrable experience in team leadership & management of resources, resource planning and supporting the development of less experienced resources within the team.
* A relevant degree such as in project management, engineering, environmental science, construction, or relevant subject. Alternatively, relevant experience in industry would be considered acceptable for exceptional candidates.
* Demonstrable experience and knowledge of NEC3 and NEC4 contract management.
* A project management qualification such as APMQ or PRINCE2 would be desirable.
* Membership of a related professional body preferably chartered (APM, CIOB) would be desirable.
* You may be required to undertake and successfully complete security screening checks.
