The Role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Registered Nurse to join our Emergency Department based at University Hospital Wishaw.
This is a fantastic opportunity to really harness skills in Emergency Care and we are delighted to now invite suitably skilled and enthusiastic applications for this post.
As a Registered Nurse, you will have responsibility for assessment of care needs and the development of programmes of care, and/or the implementation and evaluation of these programmes ensuring the delivery of high quality care to patients. You will be expected to carry out all relevant forms of care without direct supervision and may be required to demonstrate procedures and supervise registered and/or unregistered staff, as well as student nurses.
Additional required after 2 years Post registration
The post holder will direct, coordinate and supervise, where appropriate, the work of other staff within the ward or department to promote best practice in relation to patient care and in the absence of the senior charge nurse/team leader, or deputy, you will provide cover to ensure effective operation of the ward /department.

* Registered Nurse with valid NMC Registration
* The post holder will be required to demonstrate excellent team working skills with the ability to work using own initiative
* Effective listening, communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to work with people and as part of a multidisciplinary team
* Excellent time management skills
* Working knowledge of basic information technology
It would be great if you also have
* Educated to degree level or training undertaken post registration courses
* Evidence of CPD e.g. Flying Start
* Immediate Life support
* Evidence of post registration skills
* Evidence of positive role Modelling
* Ability to use NHS Patient Management Systems
* Ability to work in a fast paced environment

The working pattern for this role: Rotational shift pattern. 12 hour shifts.
