MY CLIENT IS A CONSTRUCTION COMPANY BASED IN THE MEDWAY AREA AND THEY ARE LOOKING FOR AN EXPERIENCED HSE ADVISOR TO JOIN THEIR TEAM.
JOB DESCRIPTION
The HSE Advisor assists SMT with ensuring compliance with current legislation and guidance concerning matters of safety, health and environment assurance pertaining to the business.
Day to Day operations
1. Monitor compliance with existing internal management systems and procedures ensuring their ongoing suitability regarding legislation and guidance.
2. Support senior management team in delivering Site HSE objectives.
Principal responsibilities
1. Advise line management and assist with the implementation of new or existing HSE-related legislation, rules, and Company standards to include fire prevention, health and safety awareness training, site inspections of Company and contractors' sites.
2. Complete prevention inspections on a regular basis and ensure records maintained of same.
3. Investigate accidents, incidents, non-conformances, and external/internal complaints.
4. Assist SMT for preparations for annual HSE audits.
5. Liaise with Senior Management Team to initiate and coordinate a training plan for employees to meet the needs of the business based on a GAP analysis of the company's training matrix.
6. Assist in retaining all current HSE accreditations and work towards the attainment of new accreditations.
7. Advise line management on Site of health, safety, quality, and environmental matters and manage this process to ensure all advice is incorporated into day to day processes and operations.
8. Provide support and expertise to line management in incident investigation and reporting (including dangerous occurrences and occupational diseases).
9. Facilitate all forms of risk assessment e.g. general, manual handling, COSHH, fire prevention and site-specific risk assessments.
10. Conduct occupational health and safety related assessments e.g. noise, HAVS, exposure to chemical substances and make associated recommendations.
11. Responsible for the Occupational health of employees, completing HAVS and noise risk assessments. Draft procedures to distribute to the workforce regarding Noise and HAVS. Monitor any exposure up to the legislative limits and arrange occupational health surveillance for employees where required.
Key interfaces
All Site personnel, including Directors, Senior Management, front line supervisors' staff and contractors, Internal/external auditors and regulatory bodies.
The salary is negotiable dependant upon experience.
