The Job Summary:
Wrightbus, the fastest growing production company in Europe, is recruiting for a Project Engineer. The role involves managing and facilitating the industrialization of NPD projects, from concept to commercialization, to support the strategic goals of the company
The Role:
* Manage all aspects of the product development process:
* Adhere to project timelines
* Meet the project budget, business, sales, commercial, and production requirements
* Co-ordinate internal and external stakeholders
* Manage regular project and Gate review meetings
* Produce weekly progress reports
* Report to and assist the Head of New Product Development
* Partner with the Engineering Management team to ensure objectives are achieved
* Produce detailed weekly NPD metric reports for the Senior Leadership team
* Ensure customer specifications are managed in line with budget expectations
* Co-ordinate solutions to technical and commercial challenges
* Manage projects in line with company objectives
* Assist Sales Administration with required tender/quotation preparation
* Manage solutions to in-service product failures with the aftermarket team
* Ensure process change control procedures are adhered to and communicated
* Assist various departments in pre-customer sign-off/acceptance
* Conduct post-review of projects at closure for improvement points
* Manage daily running of the development department alongside Project Managers
* Manage team recruitment, training, evaluation, discipline, motivation, and recognition
* Lead existing team members ensuring clear roles and responsibilities
* Work with strategic purchasing to agree Terms and Conditions with suppliers
* Complete annual appraisals and ensure they are reviewed and set to company objectives
The Requirements:
* GCSE English and Maths or equivalent.
* Hands on experience in developing or industrializing products.
* Experience in resource planning.
* Demonstratable experience in budget preparation and control.
* Experience working in a manufacturing environment.
* Proficiency in preparing timelines, managing, and reporting on projects utilising MS Project / Excel.
