What you will do:
1. Be accountable for delivering the Metro Bank brand and business model for Invoice Finance/Commercial Banking.
2. Grow our Invoice Finance book by creating fans from business and commercial customers - you will achieve this through business development and promotion of the Metro Bank brand. Your routes to market are direct to bank business and commercial customers, direct to new customers and via referrals from brokers, accountants, and other intermediaries.
3. Consistently deliver an amazing customer service, which in turn will create fans.
4. Face a range of challenges from business development (lending) to deposit generation - you need to be able to build key relationships with other departments such as Credit, Lending and Securities, and Lending Operations.
5. Make lending decisions to support Metro Bank’s business goals whilst reinforcing the correct Metro Bank operational processes and ensuring we get things right the first time for the Customer.
6. And... we are a bank so risk is a part of everything we do. We love people who take responsibility, do the right thing for customers, colleagues and Metro Bank and have the ability to call out any concerns.
What you will need:
1. Ability to maximise the customer relationship whilst being compliant during customer interactions with awareness of TCF (Treating Customers Fairly).
2. Detailed knowledge and understanding of the products we offer with a primary focus on invoice finance.
3. Ability to understand financial accounts.
4. Experience in preparing credit write ups and submitting deals to underwriting.
5. Strong understanding of the invoice finance sector and experience structuring deals in this area (including factoring, invoice discounting, and asset based lending).
6. Excellent knowledge of commercial banking and lending with general commercial awareness.
7. Excellent communication and customer service skills, with the ethos of providing amazing customer service.
8. The ability to tell the Metro Bank story to new customers successfully and creating new fans as a result.
9. Understand the risks associated with your job and what that means for you, Metro Bank and all our stakeholders.
