This HR Manager role is a generalist position with a big focus on people engagement. It’s managing a manufacturing site and it is important you’ve worked in the ‘hustle and bustle, all things go, sometimes chaotic’ atmosphere of a busy manufacturing company, and it is important you’re happy interacting with a headstrong and largely male workforce of engineers.
HR Manager – Role and Responsibilities:
1. Plan, develop and implement HR strategy for a well-established and successful manufacturing business.
2. Implement and oversee all HR policy and best practices.
3. You will show interest and be heavily involved with recruitment processes within the business.
4. Attendance/performance management alongside training and development identification.
5. Support team managers with grievance/disciplinary issues.
6. Liaise with the H&S Manager to provide line managers with up-to-date information on HR policies and H&S procedures.
7. Liaise with other HR team members and create a strong working unit built on professional relationships.
HR Manager – Skills and Abilities:
1. At least 5 years experience in a HR Management role.
2. Experience of recruiting for a busy manufacturing business.
3. Experience working with agency workers on temporary contracts.
4. Previous experience of running staff communication, notice boards, payslips, long and short-term absence management, attendance management and training budgets.
5. Experience of successfully managing a small team of HR professionals.
6. Coordinate training with regards to H&S / Management / learning / development / NVQs.
7. Resilient, ambitious and have a determined attitude to succeed.
8. Recruiting of engineers or management levels within a manufacturing sector would be advantageous, but not essential.
