Therapy Radiographer Band 6 – Specialist Practitioner 37.5 hrs (Permanent)
Applications are invited from experienced radiographers to join our dynamic team here at Torbay Oncology Centre. You will be HCPC registered.
You will have a professional and practical attitude, working with confidence and increasing your experience with advanced techniques and technologies.
Hours of work may be flexible and will reflect the needs of the department. The person appointed will be required to work shift patterns to cover extended working days, machine service days, in addition to bank holidays.
Torbay is situated on the coast of South Devon, offering easy access to local beaches, the beautiful South Hams, and Dartmoor. There are also good road, rail, and air links to London and the North.
You will provide safe and accurate highly specialised radiotherapy planning and treatment to patients across a broad range of tumour sites.
Support the team leader in the day-to-day management of patient workflow, assisting in the organisation and management of the clinical workload.
This post is rotational and competency driven across treatment delivery and treatment planning, which is radiographer led.
There will be a requirement to work flexibly as the service demands.
Torbay provides cancer services to the people of South Devon, a population of approximately 320,000, which generates some 1200 new referrals per year.
The department has two Elekta Versa HD matched linear accelerators, a Pinnacle 3D planning system, and a new dedicated wide bore CT for treatment planning with 4DCT.
We have a Support and Information Radiographer, Urology Specialist Radiographer, Gynae Specialist Radiographer, and Research Radiographer in post. Radiographers have also undertaken independent subscribing.
