About the role
The role of a Learning Support Coordinator encompasses a broad array of duties focused on assisting students with various learning requirements. In this capacity, you will oversee and guide a team of Learning Mentors dedicated to working with students requiring additional support. Additionally, you will facilitate tailored, ambitious, and personalised resources and advice to teaching staff to support sessions designed to foster academic and holistic growth for each learner.
About the Candidate
Being a Learning Support Coordinator requires a distinct skill set and specific qualities that are indispensable in effectively aiding students with diverse needs.
The capability to adjust resources to accommodate various abilities based on EHCP outcomes and needs, as well as the flexibility to cater to the individual requirements of each student. Demonstrating patience and empathy when working with students who may need additional time and assistance, while understanding their unique challenges and experiences.
Having a compassionate understanding of the struggles and situations of students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), and the ability to establish emotional connections with students to foster a supportive learning atmosphere. Effective communication abilities to collaborate with students, parents, colleagues, and other professionals, ensuring efficient teamwork and comprehensive support for students.
