Company Overview: Our client are a leading provider of high-end engineering solutions in the energy sector, working on a variety of major projects across the UK. As part of their expansion, they are seeking a skilled and experienced Transmission HV Commissioning Engineer with current Scottish Power authorisations to join the team.
Role Overview: As a Transmission HV Commissioning Engineer, you will play a key role in the commissioning of high voltage transmission systems. Your expertise will be vital in ensuring that electrical installations and upgrades are carried out safely, efficiently, and in compliance with all relevant standards and regulations. You will be working on projects related to the construction, maintenance, and upgrading of HV transmission networks.
Key Responsibilities:
* Commissioning and testing of HV electrical systems, including protection systems and equipment.
* Ensuring compliance with all safety, technical, and regulatory requirements.
* Carrying out inspections, troubleshooting, and fault finding on HV systems.
* Reviewing and preparing commissioning documentation and reports.
* Supporting project managers and senior engineers with technical expertise.
* Liaising with clients, contractors, and site personnel to ensure smooth project delivery.
* Contributing to the development and continuous improvement of commissioning processes.
Requirements:
* Essential: Current Scottish Power Authorisations - COMP, AWP-09, APSA
* Extensive experience in commissioning HV electrical systems within transmission networks.
* Strong technical knowledge of electrical engineering principles and transmission equipment.
* Ability to interpret and apply electrical drawings, specifications, and standards.
* Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
* Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
* Strong communication and teamwork skills.
* Full UK driving license.
Desirable:
* Relevant qualifications in Electrical Engineering or similar.
* Previous experience in a similar role within the energy sector.
