GMP Recruitment are currently working with a hugely successful and highly recognised leading international manufacturer located in Droitwich.
We have an exciting opportunity for a Team Leader to join a busy manufacturing department, to manage the operators, direct and ensure resourcing of production to maximise efficiency and productivity in meeting departmental targets. You will be expected to performance manage, train and develop direct reports and foster a culture of continuous improvement and self-development.
This position is working double days 05:45am - 14:00pm and 14:00pm - 22:00pm Monday to Friday, offering £18 per hour, (£36,504) plus shift allowance and overtime is available.
To be considered for this position you must demonstrate previous people management experience combined with knowledge of manufacturing principles, including methods, processes, production control, OEE.
Team Leader main duties:
1. To manage the team in line with the company policies and procedures
2. Lead and be accountable for the team's deliverables in terms of quality, cost delivery and safety
3. Liaise with other colleagues across the business to agree an achievable manufacturing plan for the team
4. Help develop, implement and communicate “visual” measures of performance (KPI's)
5. Develop and implement a departmental plan to improve deliverables of the team
6. Lead or facilitate improvements in collaboration with internal and external experts
7. To interface with internal and external customers as appropriate to deal with and resolve the team issues
8. Facilitate, coach and mentor team members through changes and improvements
9. Ensure effective resource management to meet business needs
10. Share best practice with other leaders throughout the business
11. Escalate issues that pose risk to the team to the appropriate level in the business in a timely manner
12. Ensure work standards are being set and followed
13. Help drive Continuous Improvement strategy
Team Leader required skills and experience:
1. People management experience (including motivating, organising, coaching, developing, etc.)
2. Problem solving techniques
3. Strong communication skills
4. Knowledge of manufacturing principles, including methods, processes, production control, OEE
5. Product knowledge
6. Knowledge of quality systems
7. NVQ Level 3 in Supervisory Management or equivalent or working towards
