The Senior Archive Assistant will lead and support the archive team, including the Archive Assistants, to maintain high standards in preservation, customer service, and organisation. This role requires strong organisational skills and the ability to supervise daily activities and operations. The ideal candidate will be customer-focused and able to multitask in a dynamic environment. Your role and responsibilities supervise and support the Archive Assistants in daily tasks, including responding to customer enquiries, retrieving materials, and assisting with sales in the archive shop oversee the safe handling, retrieval, and storage of archival materials, ensuring adherence to preservation standards train, motivate, and schedule team members, fostering a collaborative and efficient work environment monitor and update archive databases and records assist with customer interactions, providing expertise on archived materials and guiding the team to deliver excellent customer service collaborate with the team to promote archive services and shop merchandise support the implementation of archival policies and procedures to maintain organised, accessible, and secure collections. You will need experience in archives, libraries, museums, or a similar environment proven supervisory or leadership experience in a team setting strong organisational and time-management skills excellent customer service and communication skills proficiency with database systems and digital archiving tools attention to detail and a commitment to preserving historical materials.
