Growth Marketing Manager, Grocery & Retail
At Deliveroo, our mission is to transform the way people shop and eat, bringing the neighbourhood to your door by connecting customers, restaurants, shops and riders. We give people the opportunity to buy what they want, when and where they want it.
We are a technology-driven company at the forefront of the most rapidly expanding industry in the world. We are still a small team, making a very large impact, looking to answer some of the most interesting questions out there. We move fast, value autonomy and ownership, and we are always looking for new ideas.
The Team
This role sits within the New Verticals business unit on our Global Growth, Strategy, & Analytics team, which reports into the VP of Global Grocery & Retail and the Deliveroo COO. We are responsible for setting the strategy and lighting up new verticals, ensuring that Deliveroo has the right to win in the new and highly competitive on-demand Grocery and Retail market.
The team is focused on driving growth for New Verticals and enjoys a great balance between high-impact strategic questions and seeing the impact of your decisions. The culture within the team is informal, fast-paced and entrepreneurial. Given the growth of the business and the senior stakeholder exposure, progression in the team can be fast.
The Role
In this role, you’ll report into the Head of Growth Marketing for New Verticals. You will be responsible for developing, testing and scaling a range of strategic initiatives that enable the growth of our Grocery business, such as testing and scaling new customer acquisition mechanics. You will take a lead role in developing our growth marketing plans, working across teams to operationalise plans across markets and rapidly grow the business.
This will require working closely with internal teams across the business & commercial teams across all markets (Local markets, Data Science, CRM, Performance Marketing, Product and Incentives etc.) to bring effective strategies to market, and develop these through a constant process of test, learn and optimisation. Questions you will answer might include:
* New to grocery customer funnel reporting and what’s changing over time.
* How can we better leverage media, in-app, CRM and promos to drive grocery conversion?
* How can we drive early stage customer frequency to improve retention?
* GROWTH MARKETING: You will need an understanding of the marketing channels and techniques used to drive conversion and be confident in measuring performance across key indicators (traffic, conversion, cost per acquisition, lifetime value, return on ad spend), being able to identify when and why performance is changing.
* DECISIVE AND INFLUENTIAL: You should thrive in a fast-paced environment and be comfortable with making fast decisions, even in times of ambiguity and based on intuition. You are comfortable making recommendations and communicating them across the business persuasively. More importantly, you must have a strong desire to galvanise action within Deliveroo, thinking about the big picture but also not afraid to get into the weeds of a problem to get things done.
* ANALYTICAL AND COLLABORATIVE: There will be some number-crunching involved, but your role will also be about stepping back – you’ll need to see the bigger picture and understand how your insights are aligned with the direction the business is heading in. You will need to work closely with Data Science, using their expertise effectively to ask the right questions to support your strategies.
Profile
We are looking for someone who:
* Has at least 4+ years of experience in a Growth Marketing, Performance Marketing or Digital Marketing Role in a B2C business.
* Is analytical, enjoys using critical thinking to solve problems and working in a dynamic business environment.
* Has an entrepreneurial mindset and is willing to roll their sleeves up and get stuck into building the future of on-demand grocery.
Requirements
* Strong understanding of key marketing channels, how to leverage them to drive conversion and how to run experiments within them.
* Strong analytical skills, able to self-serve using data management tools (Looker or equivalent, Meta Ads Manager, Google Ad Manager) and work closely with Data Analysts / Scientists to solve more complex problems.
* Strong communication skills with the ability to influence others.
* London-based with a minimum of three days required in the office.
Nice-to-have
* Experience working in a subscription business.
* Intermediate SQL with a desire to learn.
Benefits and Diversity
At Deliveroo we know that people are the heart of the business and we prioritise their welfare. We offer a wide range of competitive benefits in areas including health, family, finance, community, convenience, growth, time away and relocation.
We believe a great workplace is one that represents the world we live in and how beautifully diverse it can be. That means we have no judgement when it comes to any one of the things that make you who you are - your gender, race, sexuality, religion or a secret aversion to coriander. All you need is a passion for (most) food and a desire to be part of one of the fastest growing companies in an incredibly exciting space.
