Shift pattern: Work opposite shifts to the Ancillary Manager. These shifts are fairly set and regular; however, flexibility is required in case of changes. Please ask about the shifts during your informal conversation with the Home Manager or Ancillary Manager, or at the interview.
We’re here to support people with the services they tell us they want and need, creating an environment that considers the views of both the people we support and the people important to them.
At Mortimer House, we have a large, dedicated staff team who are well regarded and commended by relatives, who trust the team to ensure their loved ones are well looked after.
The home is a busy and fast-paced environment where we support up to 16 people with Learning Disabilities, Dementia, Sensory Impairments, and complex needs regarding eating and drinking, mobility, and emotional wellbeing. Our residents are supported to lead the care they receive and live as independently as possible.
Responsibilities:
1. Ensure the environment at Mortimer House is kept clean and tidy, working in line with regulations and agreed safe systems.
2. Become familiar with the people we support and their care needs and preferences.
3. Complete a range of daily tasks such as cleaning bedrooms and communal spaces, and checking fridges and temperatures.
The successful housekeeper will have great communication skills, with the ability to communicate with team members, people we support, and a range of stakeholders.
At Milestones Trust, we recognize that without the hard work, commitment, and passion of our staff, we wouldn’t be the charity that we are today. In return, we are committed to rewarding you with a competitive pay and benefits package including:
* 30 days annual leave entitlement
* Company pension scheme, with Milestones matching employee contributions up to 3% to help grow your retirement pot
* Learning and development opportunities to help you build your career, including a comprehensive induction programme and the opportunity to undertake further qualifications
* Health Cash Plan on completion of probation, giving you access to a minimum of £695 cash back for health treatments e.g. dental, therapies, optical, maternity/paternity, NHS prescriptions, etc.
* Generous Occupational Maternity/Paternity pay
* Get paid when you want – access your money as you earn it and request your earnings before payday using Dayforce Wallet
* Access to an Employee Discount Platform from day one, with discounts and cashback for hundreds of retailers
* An employee referral scheme that allows you to earn points that can be converted to cash for family members or friends that you point in Milestones’ direction.
We pride ourselves on being able to offer staff opportunities to develop and progress their careers within the Trust.
For an informal discussion about the job role, please contact Adam Irvine (Home Manager) or Nicola Garty (Ancillary Manager) at 01179 610863.
