Sanctuary Personnel, an innovative and committed recruitment agency, has a new permanent position available for a Children's Residential Youth Worker to work full time based in Wellingborough.
The salary for this permanent Children's Residential Youth Worker job is up to £23,788 per annum.
Responsibilities:
1. Work with all young people of the home carrying out care plans to ensure that their physical, emotional and social well-being is cared for and feeding back relevant information to Keyworkers as appropriate.
2. Undertake assessments, admission and discharge arrangements in accordance with departmental policies.
3. Provide services and counsel individually and/or in groups to facilitate implementation of care plans.
4. Maintain effective administration records including Reports, Reviews, Court Reports, Records of Appointments, Case Review Dates, Release Plans, and may include Petty Cash, Processing of invoices and other records within the Home and Departmental Policies.
5. Pursue appropriate Staff Development and Training Programmes enabling the post holder to undertake their duties in a professional manner and in accordance with Home/Departmental Policies, including attendance at Staff Meetings.
6. Ensure all work within the home is delivered within a therapeutic framework beneficial to the young people.
7. Supervise persons in the home on work placements and others undertaking Work Experience if required.
8. Share in the normal domestic work and activities of the home to ensure its adequate functioning.
9. Take responsibility for the home in the absence of the Team Manager and Assistant Team Manager.
10. Demonstrate awareness/understanding of equal opportunities and the needs of others.
11. Ensure reasonable care is taken for health, safety, and welfare, complying with health and safety policies.
12. Carry out any other duties which fall within the broad spirit, scope and purpose of this job description.
Requirements:
1. Desirable to have the Level 3 Residential Child Care qualification or equivalent, or a willingness to complete in post.
2. Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
3. Ability to work as part of a team.
4. Understanding of the needs of looked after young people.
5. Knowledge of relevant regulations, legislation, and statutory guidance.
6. Understanding of intervention strategies.
7. Enhanced DBS clearance.
