Salary Range: £23,000 to £27,000 per annum / Starting Salary: £23,000 to £25,000 per annum (pro-rata) (based on skills and experience)

Hours: Part Time (16 hours per week)
Location: Bristol and South Gloucestershire
Start date: ASAP (dependent on completion of satisfactory reference and DBS checks)
Job Purpose
As a Sessional Engagement Worker you will work as part of a team whose aim is to provide a safe space that contributes to the social and mental wellbeing of local young people. Your role will be to enhance young people’s self-development through their participation in activities and discussions, and their involvement in the running of the centre, with an emphasis on having fun.
Key Responsibilities
* To participate in the running of a programme of activities, services and facilities.
* To participate in the overall management of the unit.
* To promote and encourage participation and the empowerment of young people.
* To promote good equal opportunities practices and to take positive steps to counter discrimination however and wherever it occurs.
* To attend meetings, and prepare reports as required.
* To contribute to service planning.
Skills and Experience Required
* Warm and approachable personality.
* A belief in young people and a basic understanding of attachment and trauma.
* Open-minded and accepting of others.
* Commitment to the development, understanding and implementing of Equal Opportunities.
* Practical approach to problem solving.
* Literacy and numeracy skills.
* A willingness to work towards a youth work qualification is essential.
* Proven activity skills.
* A record of achievements with young people.
* Experience of working with young people.
* Any qualification/training relevant to personal care and/or working with young people.
Accountable for: This role has no direct reports.
