We are now looking for a
Project Manager – Energy Storage UK
to join our team working for a better future.
The position is permanent and the preferred location is in UK. This can be a hybrid position, working from home or a local office, while based from our office in the UK.
What you will be doing
Battery Energy Storage is growing rapidly in the United Kingdom and Europe, so we are looking for a Project Manager to execute Energy Storage projects and be a leading member of the project management organisation in the region. This position requires a high performing and experienced Project Management professional.
As a Project Manager, your work will focus on these responsibilities:
* Manage Energy Storage project assignments according to signed contracts and Wartsila Energy Business Project Management guidelines.
* Plan and manage required resources for project execution in co-operation with resource line-managers.
* Manage Energy storage customer contracts and act as customer’s first contact point during execution of a project.
* Lead and coach project team members involved in execution of Energy storage projects.
* Lead and steer site team members involved in execution of Energy storage projects.
* Prepare, update and report project execution plan, cost budget, project schedule, project receivables and contract completion milestones.
* Manage contract requirements, risks and issues. Develop risk response strategy and plan.
* Lead and steer project engineering, purchasing, logistics and subcontracting activities.
* Participate in customer meetings and negotiations. Establish and maintain excellent customer relationships.
* Demonstrate leadership by following Wärtsilä Project Management Methodology and Business Directives.
* Apply Project Management best practices.
* Support UK and EU Energy storage project sales opportunities.
To be successful in this role, we expect you to have:
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
* B.Sc. or M.Sc. in engineering (or similar).
* Project Management Professional or similar qualification.
* Industrial Construction Project Management experience in the UK:
o Minimum 3 years.
o Projects with a value of more than £10 Million.
* Leadership experience and skills.
* Good negotiation and presentation skills.
* Cost awareness & effectiveness.
* Excellent teamwork skills.
* Proactive attitude and positive Can-Do mind-set.
(In this role, some travel is required to meet with our customers around the world. Thus, we hope you to be ready to travel approximately 10%, even though most of the meetings are held virtually.)
