Reporting directly to the Head of Logistics you will be responsible for the full range of product movements from receipt through to preparation for delivery. Operating in one of the largest distribution facilities in Hereford you will have the ability to deliver world class customer service. As one of the most senior people on site, your time will be split between monitoring of business metrics and being on the warehouse floor engaging with the team and ensuring proactive management of any situation that arises. The Warehouse Manager, supported by a team warehouse colleagues, is responsible for ensuring high levels of service and safety within the shift they operate and ensuring a complete working synergy with the Nightshift and Transport team and ensuring the facility and equipment is maintained in line with statutory requirements. Develop Supervisors to ensure high standards of service and availability for customers. Drive productivity, cost efficiency, health and safety, and performance targets. Adapt to volume changes to maintain timely servicing of our retail customer base. Champion diversity and inclusion initiatives and nurture talent for future growth. The person undertaking this role must have previous experience of working in a Management position within a Warehouse and logistics environment, with a proven track record of delivering high levels of performance, while maintaining excellent colleague engagement. Previous experience of managing change initiatives and understanding of continuous improvement principles are vital attributes for the person undertaking this role. Key relationships include Transport Management, Customer Success Teams, Purchasing, R&D, Compliance and other departments. Key Responsibilities will include: • Leading, supporting, coaching and developing a team of Supervisors in a fast-paced environment. • Developing cost targets and budgetary goals to support business strategy. • Develop and maintain KPI targets, ensuring on-time, in-full delivery. • Drive productivity, health and safety, and performance metrics. • Foster colleague engagement and support with colleague development plans. • Actively champion the company Values • Plan ahead 6-12 months, including talent and budgeting. • Build and maintain key relationships across various internal/ external stakeholders. • Ensure customer service excellence both internally and externally. • Ensure high standards are maintained throughout the site. • Ensure high levels of accuracy across the board range of inventory. • Ensure product quality and post-delivery product issues are thoroughly reviewed with appropriate action taken in line with company standard. • Review processes to identify improvements and lead change initiatives. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure company-wide compliance. • Develop and deliver change programs within the warehouse and across the site. • Lead talent reviews, including succession planning. • Carry out investigations and appropriate outcomes in line with company policy. • Support in other areas as required.
