Overall Job Purpose The Bid Team is a key part of the Marketing and Business Development Team and is responsible for leading, project managing and delivering a significant proportion of bids across all service lines. They are there to ensure we are bidding for the right opportunities and maximising our chances of success to drive profitable revenue growth. Day-to-day, the team works closely with the fee earner group and wider marketing and business development team to deliver premium bids and presentations both from a content and visual perspective. The Bid Senior Executive is responsible for supporting and project managing important bids. The Bid Senior Executive will work with the Bid Manager, marketing and business development team, partners and staff to implement the RSM bid route map, take ownership of a number of bids and drive best practice to maximise bid success. This is a highly networked role that requires an ability to work under pressure and to challenging deadlines. It will require strong project management and commercial skills. This role is hybrid, working 1-2 days per week in the London office. Key Responsibilities Include Manage the end-to-end bid process, ensuring bid procedures are adhered to, with guidance and support from the Bid Manager as appropriate. Support the Bid Manager with larger and strategically important bids. Manage the bid qualification (bid/no bid) process for new opportunities, encouraging open discussion and challenge on opportunities with a low likelihood of success. Possible attendance at scoping meetings for large bids to ensure key messages are captured and reflected in the final bid document. Manage inputs from a variety of stakeholders, often involving contributions from several service lines, Client and Markets team, commercial finance and legal. Work with the bid stakeholders to develop innovative client propositions. Contribute to the written document when required, for both the bid document and presentation, sharing learnings from other opportunities. Challenge partners/fee earners on bid and presentation content and offer suggestions for improvements, ensuring our responses are compliant and offer compelling reasons to choose RSM. Ensure each bid is in line with firm strategy and is commercially sound. Organise presentation rehearsals, ensuring individual roles are clear, key messages are clearly articulated, and advising on potential improvements. Work closely with the design and digital team to develop leading edge documents and presentation material. Undertake post bid reviews for both wins and losses internally and externally, actively sharing key learnings and areas for improvement with the bid team. Coach partners and staff through the bid route map, helping motivate and drive positive behaviours. Identifying wider bid training needs as appropriate. Support the development of a credentials and tenders bank, identifying gaps and feeding in quality content. Identify and share best practice on the bid hub. Support with bid related projects as required by the Bid Manager or Head of Bids. Personal and professional qualities Experience in bid best practice and project managing bids – ideally in a professional services environment. A professional, credible and confident communicator, with strong influencing skills and the ability to work effectively with individuals at all levels within the firm. Experience of creating bids in a variety of mediums such as Microsoft Word, PowerPoint is desirable. Solid and relevant commercial understanding and experience. A proactive and self-motivated individual. Able to work in a busy, deadline pressured environment. Able to work to tight deadlines and ensure good time management is always kept. Management of own workload with minimal supervision. An active team player. Willingness to travel if required to support bids. APMP certification (desirable but not essential).
