Incredibly well invested food manufacturer seeks capable technical manager for long term relationship.
The Site
The site has had millions of pounds invested in it. Actually, no. Hundreds of millions of pounds. It has equipment that isn’t used anywhere else in the world.
The Business
They’ve got the fastest growing discounter, the biggest retailer and the biggest QSR chain as customers. They’ve got huge volumes, and they’re growing. Ongoing NPD. Investment. Growth. They’re multinational and well funded.
The Role
You’re Technical Manager on a large food manufacturing site. You’ll do everything you’d expect in this position. The role is retailer facing, with a good sized team supporting. You’ll report into the Site Director, with a dotted line into the Technical Director.
Why you’d want it
It’s a big, juicy TM role. It’s a great business and at the same time a challenging site. But the good kind of challenging – as in ‘not a walk in the park’, as opposed to ‘run a marathon in under 60 minutes while wearing a nightie’.
Why you wouldn’t want it
The site is well invested, but new kit brings new problems. There aren’t loads of experts to lean on. The site is also taking on huge volumes, which is a strain on any business. There’s a lot happening at the same time, and people are a bit frazzled.
If you want an easy life? I mean, I’m not sure the food industry was a wise choice, but this definitely isn’t.
That said, the benefits are pretty outstanding.
