Job Title: Senior Software Engineer
Salary: £40,000-£75,000 depending on experience
Location: Stevenage (Relocation support may be available for this role)
Dynamic (hybrid) working: Typically, for this role, you will work 3-5 days per week on-site due to workload classification.
Security Clearance: British Citizen or a Dual UK national with British citizenship

* We’re looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our team and help drive innovation in mission-critical technology!
* Our Test Software team collaborates across Electronic Engineering, Software Engineering, and Test Centres to develop high-quality test solutions for cutting-edge defence technology.
* Our mission is to facilitate robust and timely testing of complex systems to ensure they meet the highest quality and performance standards.
* Spanning a diverse portfolio of projects, our Test Software team directly influences product certification, manufacturing output, and support activities. Specifically, the team is responsible for developing and supporting software packages that utilise Test Equipment hardware to configure, verify, and validate the conformance and quality of our product range—from development through production and into field test scenarios.
* We are a multi-disciplined, dynamic, and agile team specialising in all aspects of test solution design, including software, hardware, simulation, and real-time systems.
What We’re Looking for From You:
A software engineer or electronics engineer with transferable skills in software development for test solutions:
* Strong ability to write software in one of the following languages: C, C++, or ADA, with a motivation to develop reliable, high-performance, standardised, and documented software.
* Excellent analytical and design ability, including review and critical analysis.
* A problem-solving mindset—you’ll enjoy tackling technical challenges that extend beyond the bounds of “software.”
* Passion for working on novel products where the software you produce is time- and mission-critical.
* Ability to communicate effectively with multiple stakeholders, including Systems Engineering, Electronics and Electrical teams, and Test and Validation experts.
