Job summary
The Training Programme Director in General Internal Medicine (Mer) will support the Head of School in the Strategic Development of the School of Medicine.
The post holder will lead on the development of the School's Recruitment and Retention Strategy and contribute to supporting the School Operational Programme.
The post holder will be a member of the School Board.
Please note this is a 3-year secondment with potential to extend to a maximum of three years, subject to mutual agreement.
Main duties of the job
Work in collaboration with Head of School of Medicine to develop and implement a Medical Workforce Strategy which supports the recruitment and retention of General Internal Medicine Trainees with focus on the regional education programs.

Colleagues with a contractual office base are expected to spend, on average, at least 40% of their time working in-person.
Staff recruited from outside the NHS will usually be appointed at the bottom of the pay band.

7. To support the Head of School to ensure appropriate systems for Assessment, Rotational Management, Trainee Supervision & Support and other functions within the school.
8. To promote or lead work programmes on behalf of the School of General Internal Medicine.

Essential
9. Consultant in General Internal Medicine on the Specialist Register
10. Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians
11. Consultant currently working in NHS in North-West England
Desirable
12. Education Qualification such as Postgraduate Certificate, Diploma or Masters in Medical Education
Experience
Essential
13. Experience of organising / delivering education programmes / courses
14. Considerable experience of working with doctors in an educational context
15. Experience as an educational supervisor
16. Previous or current appointment as a Leader in Healthcare Education
17. Understanding the Workforce Transformation agenda
18. Experience in Recruitment
19. Trained and experienced in recruitment, selection and Equality and Diversity in the last 3 years
20. Demonstrable track record of delivery in service and education
21. Applicants who are doctors require a Licence to Practise
22. Clinical Manager Experience
