UCB aspires to be the patient-centric global biopharmaceutical leader transforming the lives of people living with severe diseases. We focus on central nervous system and immunology disorders. Our ambition is to offer innovative medicines and ground-breaking solutions that go beyond the drug.
We are committed to enabling cutting-edge scientific research that is driven by the patients' needs.
We are currently seeking an experienced protein biochemist with expertise in the expression and purification of a variety of recombinant proteins including integral membrane proteins for use in structural studies to join our Protein Expression & Purification Department. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to make a significant scientific contribution to exciting drug discovery projects.
Responsibilities
1. Take a lead role in the expression and purification of recombinant proteins including multi-pass membrane proteins for structural studies.
2. Communicate effectively within the protein group and across multiple disciplines (project teams, enzymologists, crystallographers and CADD groups), ensuring that information on work progress is relayed clearly, highlighting any technical issues and providing potential solutions.
3. Keep abreast of and implement technology developments within the area of protein expression and purification, especially techniques involved in the production of recombinant proteins including multi-pass membrane proteins.
