Job Summary:
The Haven is a three bed children's home based in Newport. We're on the lookout for dynamic and caring Children's Residential Support Workers to join our squad! In this role, you'll be the beacon of hope, providing unwavering support to our young champions. Get ready to make a real difference in the lives of children who need it most.
Responsibilities:
1. Ensuring high levels of emotional and physical care.
2. Providing appropriate activities, as well as a comfortable, safe and supportive environment for the young people who live within the home.
3. Supporting the young people to build and manage relationships with their families and others, while working with a range of external partners/services.
4. Key working responsibilities with the young people using Psychological / trauma informed practice.
5. Providing a child centred, kind and empathetic approach to support.
6. Following a robust safeguarding process.
7. Keeping accurate, timely and up-to-date records.
What do we need?
1. Desirable: QCF Level 3 - This is not essential but will help.
2. Experience and a deep understanding of trauma with a passion for making a positive difference in children's lives.
3. Ability to connect with children through empathy and patience, offering steady guidance even during difficult times.
4. Flexibility and proactivity, ready to adapt to the needs of the home and the children.
5. Commitment to working as part of a team, understanding the importance of collaboration in creating a safe, nurturing space.
6. Experience of working within safeguarding frameworks.
7. Ability to key work and engage with a number of young people who have a complex range of support needs.
8. Effective communication skills in writing and verbally, using appropriate tone and language.
9. A DRIVING LICENCE IS DESIRABLE.
