The Project Manager's purpose is to support the design and coordinate the implementation and delivery of a robust project/s in a timely and coordinated way. This role will manage the end to end lifecycle of the project; successfully delivering and implementing the framework, ensuring all stakeholders are engaged, benefits identified and tracked and risks appropriately managed, working cross-functionally ensuring compliance with all organisational policies and practices.
Responsibilities:
* The management of projects, ensuring that identified business needs are met, acquiring and utilising the necessary decisions, resources and skills, in accordance with MIB’s delivery framework and within delegated cost, risk, timescales, and quality.
* Ensures that the Lead Agile PM and Portfolio Accountable Executive are appropriately briefed on the current and forecast status for all projects and changes in a timely manner.
* Takes full responsibility for the definition, planning, documentation, reporting and satisfactory completion of projects.
* Identifies, assesses and manages risks to the projects.
* Prepares realistic project and quality plans and tracks activities against the plans, providing regular and accurate reports to stakeholders as appropriate.
* Ensures Quality Reviews occur on schedule and according to agreed standards.
* Ensures that projects and change activities are formally closed and, where appropriate, subsequently reviewed, and that lessons learned are recorded.
* Provides leadership to the project team and takes appropriate action where team performance deviates from agreed tolerances.
* Monitors the anticipated benefits (typically specified as part of the business case for a project). Identifies specific measures and mechanisms by which benefits can be predicted and measured, and plans to activate these mechanisms at the required time.
* Creates the readiness plan, assists the user community in the provision of transition support and change planning, including ensuring that changes are scheduled to best harmonise with business cycles and key business events.
* Leads on the development of implementation plans.
* Ensures the project includes appropriate provision to achieve the required quality of data.
* Ensures that functional and non-functional requirements are appropriately fulfilled.
* Ensures the production of a comprehensive Service Introduction document.
* Complies with all Governance requirements within the MIB Delivery Framework.
* Aiming for delivery of high-quality, customer-ready deliverables at every sprint.
Qualifications and Education:
Skills and Knowledge:
* Prince 2, Agile Scrum Master, Unified Process or equivalent qualification.
* Experience of Systems Development lifecycles.
* Experience of Scrum, Kanban, Time Boxing, Adaptive planning, Burn Down Lists.
* Fosters an inclusive team culture and empowers tech teams.
* Engages Agile teams in challenging the status quo to simplify solutions.
* Drives technical agility, understands dependencies and risks.
* Balances delivery speed against avoidance and retirement of technical debt.
* Demonstrable experience of using Requirements traceability, Requirements management tools.
* Proven experience in an agile and waterfall delivery environment.
* Has operated as a PM in complex insurance or equivalent organisations.
* Excellent communication and presentation skills - written and oral.
* Proven ability to deal with outside suppliers and represent MIB in a professional manner.
* Previous experience of managing multiple projects at one time.
* A demonstrable understanding of budget management and associated skills.
* Able to lead and motivate others.

Salary: up to £64,000 per annum depending on experience
Grade: 12
Hours: 35 hours per week (Monday - Friday)

Hybrid working: 2 days in the office per week from our Milton Keynes office, MK14
