Engineering Technician Apprenticeship Level 3 - Technical Support

With a long-serving team, Wilson Tool is uniquely positioned to provide a wealth of knowledge and experience on a range of design manufacturing practices to apprentices.
Hours: Monday to Thursday, 8.00am until 4.00pm. Friday, 8.00am until 3.00pm.
Duration: 4 years
Work
As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.
What you’ll do at work
* Adapt/create designs and drawings for manufacturing, technical or commercial use
* Understand technical drawings and specifications
* Produce CAD (computer aided design) models and engineering drawings
* Provide help and support to production and internal/external sales teams
* Test and troubleshoot tools to find issues and solutions
* Learn and understand manufacturing processes for tool making

Training
An apprenticeship includes regular training with a college or other training organisation. At least 20% of your working hours will be spent training or studying.

* One to two days per week would be based at New College Swindon completing an Engineering Technician Level 3 Apprenticeship
* Knowledge, skills and behaviours as set out in the Engineering Technician- Technical Support pathway Level 3 apprenticeship
Requirements
GCSE in:
* 5 GCSEs in total to include Maths, English, Science (grade 4 or above)
* Engineering Level 2 (grade Pass)

* An interest in Design and SolidWorks (a previous qualification or work experience would be advantageous).

* 25 days holiday plus 8 statutory days.
