Our client is a growing SME in the media production and retail sector. They have been established for over twenty years, and have grown well over that period of time, bing highly reputable in their specialist field.
Your new role
Due to growth, they are currently looking to appoint an Assistant Accountant to join their finance team. Supporting the head of finance your responsibilities would include:
1. Purchase Ledger Management:Process invoices promptly.Raise payments according to terms.Resolve queries efficiently.
2. Budgeting and Audit:Assist with budgeting and forecasting.Support year-end audit tasks.
3. Collaboration and Record Keeping:Partner with department managers as needed.Ensure accurate financial transaction recording and reporting.Create monthly journals for the accounting system.
4. Tax andpliance:Handle VAT processing and reconciliation.Manage stock reconciliations.Deliver HMRC submissions and ONS reporting.
5. Banking and Systems:Maintain banking facilities and reconcile transactions.Assist with Dynamics 365 upgrades.
6. General Finance Duties: Provide ad hoc support to the finance team.
What you'll need to succeed
The right person for the position will be actively pursuing an accountancy qualification, specifically in the later stages of AAT or the early stages of CIMA/ACCA. They would need to possess excellent IT skills, particularly in Microsoft Office and Excel. Highly organised, they can effectively prioritise and manage a busy workload. Familiarity with Business Central or Navision is advantageous, and they exhibit strong attention to detail. Additionally, they need to be able to work well as part of a team and have excellent verbal and writtenmunication skills.
