Key Responsibilities:
As a Structural Engineer, you will play a critical role in delivering on a variety of projects, with a particular focus on historic and heritage structures.
You will be responsible for:
* Analysis and Reporting: Inspecting structural issues in a diverse portfolio of property, leveraging your experience to provide high quality reporting.
* Client Management: Working closely with clients to understand their needs, develop tailored solutions, and ensure projects are delivered to a high standard. You will be expected to build and nurture long-term client relationships, with an eye for identifying future business opportunities.
* Project Leadership: Managing all phases of structural engineering projects, from concept through to completion, ensuring quality, efficiency, and timely delivery.
* Site Inspections and Surveys: Conducting structural surveys, inspections, and site visits to monitor progress and address any design or structural challenges. You will be required to travel nationwide to various project sites.
* Team Collaboration: Mentoring junior engineers and collaborating with other team members, including architects and contractors, to deliver integrated design solutions.
* Business Development: Identifying opportunities for business development through client interaction, networking, and promoting the company's services. You will contribute to the strategic growth of the client by leveraging your expertise and industry knowledge.
* Compliance and Standards: Ensuring that all designs meet current British Standards, Eurocodes, and relevant regulatory requirements.
Requirements:
To be considered for this exciting opportunity, you must possess the following qualifications and attributes:
* Chartered Status with ICE or IStructE is a must have.
* Minimum of 5 years’ experience in structural engineering, with proven expertise in working with historic and listed buildings .
* Strong knowledge of current building codes, regulations, and industry standards, with particular focus on the structural preservation of heritage buildings.
* Excellent client-facing and communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
* Strong leadership skills and the ability to manage projects and teams efficiently.
* Willingness to travel nationwide for site visits and client meetings.
* A proactive, solution-oriented mindset, with aspirations for career progression into a leadership role.
* Full UK driving license.
* Engineers looking to move from freelance to a permanent contract are particularly of interest.
* You must have permission to work in the UK as no sponsorship is available for this opportunity.
