Our client is currently looking for a Product Support Technician to join there Quality team. Primarily based on the customer premises, you will provide on-site support for technical and quality concerns, ensuring our high standards are maintained and customer expectations are met. Main duties and responsibilities On site customer support for quality and design investigations Liaise with customers on technical issues. Onsite fit checks - model builds Screening and investigation of customer stock Investigation of non-conforming product. Responsible for repair (where possible), and feedback on product returns Proactively support the customer to investigate and resolve issues to avoid and eliminate disruption to their production process. Compile daily incident and investigation reports following customer issues - including photographs and detail of work carried out Prototype Support - work with the customer development team to support them in designing new harnesses Keep tooling and spares up to date, identify ongoing requirements to CMR Quality Engineer as necessary. Fault finding techniques to identify issues Advanced Manufacturing skills repair and investigate potential issues Support wider Quality and Engineering teams in the delivery of various projects including continuous improvement, new product introduction Support Development of engineering solutions to improve quality performance e.g. Jigs, Build Boards and Test Boards Examine schematics/drawings and supporting documents Daily incident reports should contain all work completed each day i.e both customer generated and CMR generated issues with time spent on each issue to help understand how workload balances between customers and CMR activity. Desired skills and qualifications Experience in manufacturing electrical wiring harnessing IPC certification would be desirable Well-developed interpersonal, ambassadorial and communication skills Experience in customer-facing roles within a manufacturing or production environment Ability to read technical drawings and technical specifications Attention to details for identifying defects and ensuring product compliance Good analytical skills and a logical approach Ability to manage your own time and work as part of the team Ensuring confidentiality and discretion in handling sensitive information Good computer literacy Occasional travel to head office in Newcastle would be required What they offer As a Gold-accredited Investors in People organisation, we are highly committed to providing opportunities for personal and professional growth and maintain a strong focus on training and development.
