Job Advertisement: Production Engineer
Salary: £30,000 - £35,000
The Role:
As a Production Engineer, you will be an integral part of a small team reporting to the Production Manager. Your contributions will be crucial in the new product development process, focusing on both design and manufacturing perspectives.
In this role, you will continuously review and enhance our production processes to improve product quality, streamline operations, and boost manufacturing efficiency. We seek individuals with expertise in electronics, software, and the moulding of sub-assemblies. Experience in the production of imaging and navigation sensor products is highly desirable.
Job Responsibilities:
Provide feedback to multi-discipline design engineers regarding design for manufacture and build/test procedures.
Manage hand-over activities for new products, including:
Prototype builds to establish build procedures.
Optimising and documenting new build and test procedures.
Assisting with new product design and qualification on an ad-hoc basis.
Conduct root cause analysis of faults arising from customer returns related to production issues.
Assist in qualification and testing of new or alternative materials for production.
Help design and improve test facilities, jigs, and procedures within production.
Improve procedures and documentation for existing products, including training operators where appropriate.
Liaise with suppliers regarding issues that affect quality or production, including training on test procedures.
Diagnose and repair defective or quarantined components/products from production.
Assist in refining and updating technical purchasing specifications to ensure supplier compliance with requirements.
Qualifications and Experience:
Minimum HNC or equivalent professional experience in Electrical Engineering or Production Engineering.
At least 3 years of experience in electronic product manufacturing with in-house moulding capability.
Experience in configuring and optimising manufacturing software applications is advantageous.
Strong organisational skills to manage your time effectively, working both autonomously and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
A proactive drive to continuously improve processes and products.
Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
