Main duties of the job
We are looking for clinical skills facilitators to work with and support the practice educator in these exciting new roles, to develop, maintain and support learning, development and growth within our neighbourhood nursing teams using evidence-based practice.
You will work in close collaboration with all members of the neighbourhood nursing teams to provide comprehensive, evidence-based practice, assessing the quality of a range of practice learning environments, determining interventions to sustain and enhance practice education; ensuring all localities have an up to action plan in place. You will support and facilitate the development of clinical supervisors, assessors and preceptors, providing supervision and support structures in order to build education in practice capability, consistency and efficiency.
Job responsibilities
Job purpose:
* To work and support collaboratively with the Practice Educator to develop, maintain and support learning, development and growth within the Neighbourhood Nursing Teams using evidence-based practice.

* To assist Neighbourhood nursing Teams in working across all localities.
* Assess the quality of a range of practice learning environments, determine interventions to sustain and enhance practice education; ensuring all localities have an up to action plan in place.
* Support and facilitate the development of clinical supervisors, assessors and preceptors, providing supervision and support structures in order to build education in practice capability, consistency and efficiency.
* To support the Practice Educator to develop, co-coordinate, evaluate and implement education programmes, contribute to development, validate and review through an annual quality review.
Person Specification
Qualifications
* Registered Nurse on Part 1 of the Nursing Midwifery Council register Or Registered Paramedic with Health Care Professions Council.
* Recognised degree in Nursing/Community pathway.
* District Nursing qualification / community practitioner pathway or willingness to commence within 1 year of starting.
* Evidence of further study.
* Mentorship or training qualification.
* Introduction to teaching qualification/ practice teacher qualification or willingness to work towards.
* Relevant post-graduate qualification, e.g. in elderly care, chronic disease management, long term conditions, rehabilitation.
Experience
* Post graduate accumulative experience in the fields of elderly/ rehabilitation/ community/ intermediate care/ long term conditions/ acute illness.
* Experience of delivering education and teaching.
* Proven and evidence of experience in an autonomous practitioner role.
* Experience of working in the community in healthcare.
* Experience and competence in high level clinical assessment of complex patients.
* Evidence of specialist knowledge in minor illness management, community nursing and advanced practitioner.
* Experience of using technology to facilitate provision of patient care.
* Experience of motivational interviewing.
Specialist knowledge and expertise
* Experience of mentoring students and other healthcare professionals.
