The People Services team has an opportunity for a People Services Manager in Central Manchester.
About the Opportunity
To lead and develop the People Services and Payroll teams, adapting to change, improving performance and driving excellent customer service to meet the needs of the business.
To measure team performance and ensure a very high level of accuracy, ensuring SLAs are met and employees are accurately paid and all necessary reporting, governance and compliance is adhered to.
Key Responsibilities
* To lead the People services and Payroll teams embedding a culture of continuous improvement
* To support the team with day to day activities around HR and Payroll as required
* To be a change manager in the team, driving engagement, performance and colleague development
* Providing management information to measure and drive performance
* To manage the development and regular review of related people and payroll policies which promote best practise and legal compliance
* To develop, manage and implement all HR processes striving for 100% accuracy stats each month, finding process efficiencies and embedding them within the team and business as appropriate
* To manage relationships with external service providers in line with contractual obligations and manage the tender process for contract renewals
* To engage with the business on compliance around People and Payroll matters, such as expense claims and timely approvals and following process.
* To balance and maintain control accounts and to approve manual payments outside of the payroll cycle.
* To support the team and be a lead contact for internal and external audits
* To support the Head of Pay and Reward by providing regular performance updates and to present innovative and efficient improvements for the section.
* Lead, coach and develop your people to their fullest potential to achieve both personal and organisational objectives and goals
* Motivate, inspire and empower your people by creating an environment that promotes positive communication, encourages collaboration and demonstrates flexibility
* Lead your team through change by demonstrating confidence in the organisation, role modelling positive behaviour towards change and effective communication
Who We are looking for
Our ideal candidate will be CIPD Level 7, desirable with a Degree Level Education (or equivalent extensive experience in HR or Payroll Admin / Compliance),
* Evidence of developing teams
* Employment law and payroll knowledge
* Experience of working in a unionised environment (desirable)
* Working knowledge of SAP or a similar HR / Payroll system
* Experience of Role Evaluations / Salary Benchmarking (desirable)
