The job description for this post is generic to Advanced Clinical Practitioners and maps out the role of the fully qualified Advanced Clinical Practitioner. However, it is important to note that as services are progressing through the phases of transformation the roles and responsibilities of the Advanced Clinical Practitioner will be shaped during the implementation to reflect the evolving needs of the service and as such are not confined to one objective area. There will be an expectation of flexibility to be able to work across both functional and organic illness, adults, and older adults, with support into areas of less familiarity, with no diagnostic exclusions. The Memory Service ACP role is varied and interesting with a high level of autonomy that encompasses the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of both organic and functional mental health problems, using the full range of medical, psychological, and social opportunities available. The clinicians within the teams require a wide-ranging skill set to support service users with a broad range of complex mental and physical health problems, including, but not limited to, personality disorder, psychosis, eating disorders, co-occurring substance use and anxiety/depression.
