The opportunity has arisen to join an industry leader in UK’s Building Services sector.
Alternative Heat is a leading provider of biomass boiler systems, and we offer a full operation and maintenance package for all the systems we provide. We currently have a team of service and maintenance engineers covering our biomass installations throughout the UK and we are looking to expand this team via the recruitment of an additional full time Biomass Service Engineer.
We are looking for an engineer, preferably with previous biomass experience and the ability to carry out service, maintenance, and repair tasks on completed biomass boiler projects. Role:The Biomass engineer will be required to carry out operation and maintenance tasks on completed biomass boiler projects. The successful candidate will be based from Glasgow, however will typically travel to site from their home location on a daily basis.

Key Responsibilities
* Reactive call outs to time critical breakdowns, incl. out of hours to Biomass, Mechanical and Electrical faults.
* Improvement suggestions on installed plant and submit reports to suit.
* Servicing of boilers and submitting reports to suit.
* Work alongside existing site and office-based engineers.
* Completion of Field Reports on ‘Tablet’ type device.
* Maintain a high level of site cleanliness.
* Any other duties deemed necessary by management.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
Essential Criteria:
* Engineering experience with the ability to carry out service, maintenance, and repair tasks on completed biomass boiler projects.
* Previous experience of service and commissioning work on biomass boilers.
* Full Driving License

* Previous experience of service and commissioning work on biomass boilers.
* Mechanical and / or Electrical engineering experience
* Commercial Plumbing and Heating industry experience
