We are looking for a Band 7Advanced Mental Health Practitioner to join East Specialist Community Teams (SCT) which cover Bracknell, Slough and Windsor and Maidenhead. This post is fixed-term for 18 months. The hours are full-time ( wte) based at Fir Tree House, Upton Hospital, Slough.
Our SCT Teams are multi-disciplinary teams that deliver treatments to young people with more complex, severe, and enduring mental health problems. As a result, you will find yourself working jointly with other professions such as Children's Social Care.
The ideal clinician will be thoughtful and reflective, and someone who is a team player. We are an experienced team and as a Service we are able to provide a supportive structure and regular supervision.
The team is warm, compassionate, and welcoming. You will be provided with a supportive introduction, regular supervision and plenty of in-house training opportunities. We also have our free parking on-site.
Staff wellbeing and development is a priority for the team, alongside clinical and management supervision, there is dedicated time for reflective case discussion and team formulation, wellbeing activities and support.
Main duties of the job
1. To complete risk reviews and update safety and care plans for patients and give advice.
2. Provide comprehensive assessments and therapeutic interventions to young people and their families, as appropriate.
3. Provide care coordination for young people open to the Service.
4. Independently manage an appropriately sized caseload.
5. Use supervision effectively.
6. To work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team as well as patients, carers, family members and internal and external agencies
7. Work autonomously within professional guidelines and exercise. responsibility for the systematic governance of psychological practice.
8. Maintain own continuing professional development and contribute to team professional development initiatives.
9. To consult with members of the Multi-Disciplinary Team to ensure effective and safe care planning for young people.
10. Toidentify and report any safeguarding issues as they may arise.

31. Post-qualifying experience of undertaking comprehensive assessment of mental health needs, developing care plans, and offering appropriate support based on psychological formulation of presenting difficulties.
32. Experience of working with service users with high-risk presentations and undertaking risk assessment and risk management plans.
33. Experience of hard-to-reach diverse community groups and individuals with emerging complex needs, dual diagnoses, people with additional disabilities and safeguarding.
34. Experience of working effectively in a multi-disciplinary team and multi-agency environment

35. Knowledge and skills to assess acute mental health crisis, and deliberate self-harm at Tier 3 levels.
36. Demonstrates up to date knowledge of legislation and National strategies and requirements for CAMHS.
37. Ability to identify and employ mechanisms of clinical governance as appropriate, to support and maintain clinical practice in the face of regular exposure to highly emotive material and challenging behaviour.
