Job Description
Qualified Social Worker, Manchester Council, Children's Court Team - Must be a Qualified Social Worker with a minimum of 2 years+ UK Social Worker experience within a Children's Social Work team.
The team works extremely well together to ensure the safety of children under the close supervision of a supportive Team Manager.
Responsibilities include:
1. Work with children subject to Child in Need, child protection planning, in the court arena, and those in the pre-proceedings process.
2. Excellent communication skills with children of all ages, parents, family members, and carers.
3. Adept at communicating with professionals, effectively challenging and managing conflict while retaining communication with difficult-to-reach families.
4. Chair effective meetings such as Child in Need meetings and core groups, with an analytical overview of children's needs and risks, formulating and reviewing children's plans.
5. Organise calendar and time to balance a complex caseload.
6. Prioritise work, understand and implement a performance and quality framework, and collaborate within the team.
7. Engage in court work and liaise with other professionals.
8. 37 hours per week (flexible by negotiation).
9. 3 month Temporary Contract.
10. Start date subject to DBS and reference clearance.

The successful candidate will need to hold a DipSW or equivalent, must be registered with the HCPC, have a current DBS, and be a car driver.
