Job Description:
A growing and well-organised IT company based in Wolverhampton is looking for an experienced IT Service Desk / Field Engineer. This role is to support their established business and would suit someone in a similar role to that of a Service Desk Engineer or Field Engineer.
Duties include:
1. Taking and logging help desk calls
2. Providing 1st and 2nd line technical support to clients via telephone and remote support
3. Occasional on-site support
4. Owning user problems from logging to resolution
5. Proactively updating users on support status
6. Logging and acting on issues identified by proactive monitoring
7. Maintaining relevant documentation
Essential Experience:
1. Experience in high-level 1st and 2nd line desktop support/helpdesk roles
2. Excellent telephone manner
3. Knowledge of Microsoft server OS, especially Windows Server 2008/2012
4. Strong knowledge of Windows 7 & 8 desktop OS
5. Experience managing shared folders and printers in a network environment
6. Knowledge of network and firewall administration, Active Directory management
