Job Title: SHE Officer GB

Working Hours: Mon-Thurs 8:30am–5pm, Fri 8:30am–4pm
Main Purpose of the Role:
* Ensure compliance with safety, health, and environmental regulations for GB.
* Report serious incidents to the Group H&S Officer and Head of SHEQ promptly.
* Investigate environmental incidents and report findings.
* Liaise with clients on safety, health, and environmental issues.
Goals & Objectives:
* Support the maintenance of the Group's ISO Integrated Management System.
* Liaise with the SHEQ Dept. to ensure working practices comply with legislation.
* Assist in developing health, safety, and environmental strategies and policies.
* Conduct risk assessments and outline safe operational procedures.
* Carry out regular site inspections and ensure compliance with policies.
* Provide in-house training on safety, health, and environmental matters.
* Maintain records of audits and inspections, suggesting improvements.
* Investigate accidents and incidents to prevent recurrence.
* Stay updated with relevant legislation and ensure compliance.
* Oversee the safe installation of equipment and disposal of hazardous substances.
* Manage COSHH Register and advise on specialist areas like noise and occupational diseases.
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
* Enforce company H&S and environmental procedures and report non-conformities.
* Assist in developing and delivering safety training.
* Conduct risk assessments for high-risk tasks and ensure understanding.
* Collaborate with various departments to ensure compliance with standards on projects.
* Perform in-house and on-site housekeeping inspections and audits.
* Promote safety awareness and work with SHEQ Dept. to update policies.
* Ensure portable electrical equipment complies with regulations.
* Assist with staff training, including inductions.
* Support the Group Health & Safety Officer as needed.
Essential Criteria
* Qualifications: NEBOSH National Certificate in Construction H&S, NEBOSH Environmental Management or equivalent/higher.
* Experience: Minimum 3 years in a similar construction role, with strong knowledge of UK health and safety laws and engineering practices. Experience with ISO 45001, 14001, and 9001.
* Skills: Strong IT skills, ability to work independently, excellent communication, ability to deliver training, and technical understanding of engineering challenges.
* Other: Full driving licence and willingness to travel across UK and occasionally Ireland
